After a weekend of buying a tree, making a wreath, putting up lights and decorations, mixing up the last of the Christmas cookie recipes, and sampling the first of them by candlelight and a Robert Shaw recording Handel's Messiah, tonight Peter and I made Eierlikör (hard eggnog) according to a secret recipe given to my sister by her Viennese piano student.  It is as good as ever (even if it does improve with age).

Ooh, yummy. We got some Trader Joe's eggnog, but this definitely looks a couple of notches up. How secret? :-)

Very secret. I made the mistake of giving the recipe to a couple of people without permission only to find out that it's Gregor's family recipe, and he really didn't want it shared widely. You'll have to ask Eva if you can get it (or have one of us make you some). We made another batch last night!
